I recall a brief period when American’s loved each other, held respect for those who unselfishly and bravely served others, mourned in the arms of strangers and recommitted ourselves to the flag and the freedoms it represents.
When the skies went quiet across the nation nine years ago our joint solemnity allowed common courtesies to flourish. There was respect. We seem to have lost our way. What better day to renew our spirit. Start with a hug.
